Dear mO member,

You will by now know of the opportunities Music Orbit provides for its members. The network has just gone through an important phase of its development with expansions in all areas, including the creation of a team of people who are helping to shape the next few years.

The idea of Music Orbit is simply this:

The network exists to provide a range of opportunities for emerging artists creating interesting new music across the genres and keep in touch with the very latest new music.

Live performance showcases of new work in London and other UK venues.

Edited digital footage of these live events promoted via the website          

Our own quarterly e-magazine ‘The Orbiter’ with articles, features, letter page, and CD             reviews. All this exclusively for members.

Promotion of a selection of members work on our monthly sampler CD distributed at our live showcases.

Website with a range of easy-to-use networking tools (personal profiles, e-notice board (the Soundboard), link-exchange etc.

Exposure of your material through a special playlist on the Music Orbit on-line radio.

In these interesting and changing times for new music, Music Orbit exists to find out what the latest ideas are, helping to circulate this music and build a supportive community. We have been able to develop this idea over the last 5 years due to generous support from Brunel University and recently the PRS Foundation for New Music. 

By the end of January 2010 we had over 500 free members. As you may know, from this February we moved over exclusively to a subscriber membership and we are now re-building a more focused membership. The extra revenue from subscriptions will enable us to continue growing and provide even more opportunities for members. Of course it will only work efficiently if all the artists out there for whom this would be of interest, sign up and subscribe.

Please sign up if as soon as you can and take advantage of what the network has to offer. Please also spread the word amongst your fellow creative artists.

I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to a ‘selection of the best’ from our season of monthly live showcases. This will take place at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, as part of the Rosemary Branch Festival. N1 3DT, on Monday 24^th May, 7.30pm.
