Description:
Nothing Beside Remains (2010) for string quartet is a free-associative, time-lapse musical contemplation on the gradual disappearance of the North Pole, predicted to have fully melted by c2100. It was inspired while reading about the International Polar Year 2007-8 and considering how strange it would be to see a map of the Earth without the North Pole.
